THE EXHIBITION

Founded in 1992 on an idea from Accordo.it—the leading publication for musicians and music‑lovers for more than thirty years—SHG MUSIC SHOW is the first and longest‑running trade‑fair event in Italy dedicated to modern musical instruments.

The exhibition spans almost 10,000 square metres in total. Large common areas sit alongside private rooms where master craftsmen, retailers, collectors and publishers exhibit next to major distributors and manufacturers. Visitors can test the instruments in fully equipped demo rooms, and every event is free of charge.

GUITARS

At SHG Music Show, the guitar takes centre stage. Nearly 5,000 square metres are devoted to electric and acoustic guitars, basses, amplification and effects—split between an unplugged area, a sound area and rehearsal rooms. The trade show brings together each year the finest craftsmen, luthiers, companies, distributors, retailers and collectors, both Italian and international. Alongside the brands and distributors unveiling the latest products, dealers offer event‑exclusive promotions, high‑quality used instruments and a wide array of accessories.

DRUMS

Drums are back in the spotlight at SHG Music Show. After co‑starring in some of the event’s most successful editions, the queen of the rhythm section returns in style this year with a spacious area devoted entirely to drums and percussion. Created in partnership with RockerTV and “I Batteristi Salveranno il Mondo,” the new section welcomes distributors, artisans, manufacturers and retailers eager to showcase their instruments across more than 1,000 m² of open space on the first floor. A further 700 m² on the third floor is reserved for rehearsal rooms, demos and workshops, giving visitors a fully hands‑on playing experience.

MUSIC

Events, workshops and demonstrations run non‑stop on several stages throughout the show: rising talents and renowned professionals take turns on the live stage, the silent stage and within the exhibition areas for top‑tier, always‑free demos and workshops.

VINTAGE VAULT

A dedicated area for vintage guitar collectors: rare and one-of-a-kind pieces from across decades.

SECOND HAND MARKET

Buy, sell and trade. A large area dedicated to private transactions through which hundreds of instruments and accessories pass. Open to all visitors, with no paperwork and no sales commissions, yet offering a check‑in service so you can leave your instrument on display while you enjoy the show. Second Hand Market is the place for great opportunities, where buying and selling happen face‑to‑face—just like at the American guitar shows that inspired SHG Music Show.

A SPACE FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

SHG Music Show also offers a wide range of activities aimed at younger players.
Education and music training are key elements of the event, with strong participation each year from music schools.

A STRATEGIC LOCATION

The 2025 edition will be held at the NH Milano Congress Centre in Assago, one of Milan’s top venues for trade fairs and conventions—located right across from the Mediolanum Forum, famous for international concerts and sporting events.

The venue is ideally located: just a 3-minute walk from the Assago Forum metro station, easily accessible from the A7 highway exit, and only 10 minutes away from Milan’s Navigli and Porta Genova areas.

Equipped with spacious, fully serviced areas, the NH Milano Congress Centre is perfectly suited to meet all logistical and organizational needs. Free parking is available nearby, along with two private lots. The venue is connected to a 4-star hotel offering special rates for exhibitors and attendees.
